Why Busy Parents Struggle to Stay Consistent

If you’re a busy parent with a lot on your plate, you’ve probably felt this…

“I just don’t have enough time.”

“I’m so busy.”

“I’m stressed.”

“I don’t have the motivation.”

“I’m exhausted by the time I get home.”

“I have to take care of everyone else first.”

Sound familiar?

I wish there were more hours in the day, too.

But the truth is, we get 24 hours to make it happen.

And if you break it down:

  • 8 hours working
  • 7–8 hours (hopefully) sleeping
  • That leaves the rest of your day…

And what do you do with that time?

That comes down to your habits.

Here’s the shift most people need to hear:

You don’t find time.

You make time.

And if you want to be consistent…

You have to do the thing, over and over again.

Not when you feel like it.

Not when it’s convenient.

But consistently.

“But what about motivation?”

Forget motivation.

Discipline is doing what needs to be done, even when you don’t feel like it.

Look, I get it.

I’m a husband.

A dad of 3.

Business owner.

Coach.

Student working on my master’s.

Life is full.

It’s not perfect.

But I’ve learned something:

If it’s not planned, it doesn’t happen.

Here’s what actually works:

1. Time block your day

Split your time into two buckets:

  • Personal: workouts, BJJ, family, errands, life
  • Professional: work, studying, content, growth

If it matters, it gets scheduled.

2. Prepare ahead of time

  • Clothes ready the night before
  • Meals prepped for the week
  • Training sessions already planned

You remove decision-making.

And that’s where most people fail.

3. Expect it to not be perfect

Things will come up.

Schedules shift.

Kids need you.

Life happens.

But instead of quitting…

You adjust, and still make time.

Because the real benefit of this?

It’s not just productivity.

It’s clarity.

When you know what needs to be done:

  • Anxiety goes down
  • Overthinking goes away
  • Confidence goes up

You stop guessing…

And start executing.

And if you can stay consistent with:

  • Planning your workouts
  • Prepping your meals
  • Scheduling what matters

You will move forward faster than people still winging it.

You don’t need more time.

You need a plan.

Start here today:

  • Pick your training days for the week
  • Block them into your schedule
  • Prep 2–3 simple meals ahead of time

That’s it.

Simple.

Effective.

Repeatable.
